Who We Are
At Spirit of the Cross, you will discover our passion to provide a place where people just like you can have a life-changing experience with God.
Our church has a primary affirming ministry to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community, but we are a church for EVERYONE. More and more straight individuals and couples are finding a warm welcome and a spiritual home at Spirit of the Cross. We are a Christ-centered congregation. We believe that Jesus taught us to live and to walk in love for God, to love all other people, and ourselves. We are a place where you can worship and minister without fear or shame, make friends, and learn about the affirming love of Christ. As a church family, we enjoy worshiping together, serving together, caring for each other, and striving to be authentic in following Jesus Christ.
You will find Spirit of the Cross to be a church where there is diversity. Spirit of the Cross affirms the dignity and worth of every person since all are created in God's image. We welcome into full membership of the church persons of every race, ethnic background, age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, socio-economic background, and marital status. Members and regular attendees come from wide-ranging church backgrounds - some from no previous church background at all. No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here.
If you eventually become a member of Spirit of the Cross, know that there are no glass ceilings here. We welcome all church members to fully share in the life, leadership, ministry, fellowship, worship, sacraments, responsibilities and blessings of participation in our congregation. Our aim is to build a loving church community where we celebrate life and God’s love together through engaging worship services and supportive ministries that make a difference.
