The Metropolitan Church of Huntsville conducts its first worship service
The service was held in the chapel near the Burritt Museum on Monte Sano Mountain overlooking the Rocket City. There were 13 original members. MCC Huntsville started as a mission of MCC Nashville and was a member congregation of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Churches (UFMCC).

Congregation votes to rename the church as Spirit of the Cross
August 2007
New sanctuary is built. The old sanctuary is remodeled for classrooms, a fellowship hall, and offices.

Completion of new classrooms in the Celia Reynolds Fellowship Hall

Congregation votes to affiliate with the United Church of Christ
